A state consultant from Ionia County has been appointed to chair a committee specializing in native authorities points.
Rep. Julie Calley, R-Portland, of Michigan’s 87th District, was appointed by Michigan Speaker of the Home Jason Wentworth to function chair of the Home Native Authorities and Municipal Finance Committee.
The committee will handle native authorities points associated to budgeting, monetary liabilities, zoning, native authority, public security and planning, in response to a information launch.
Calley was elected to the state Home of Representatives in 2016 and was reelected in 2020. She beforehand served for eight years as an Ionia County commissioner and chaired the Board of Commissioners for 3 years.
